BetGames Receives Ontario License, Expands Global Reach

BetGames has declared that it has achieved full accreditation from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), officially entering the marketplace.

BetGames is now permitted to operate in Ontario. This authorization will enable the live dealer provider to offer its offerings to operators in the province. BetGames’ live dealer lottery-style games and game shows, such as Lucky 7, Lucky 5, and the Entain exclusive game Starzle, have been a resounding success.

BetGames is the most recent company to join the rapidly expanding regulated marketplace in Ontario, which has experienced a significant increase of 64.8% from C$162 million (£104.1 million/€120 million/$118.1 million) in the initial quarter to C$267 million in the second quarter. The market commenced on April 4, 2022, and is currently in its sixth month of operation.

“We are thrilled to receive a supplier license for the Ontario market, which not only allows us to broaden our global reach but also to entertain new audiences with our casino, digital betting, and sports betting products,” stated BetGames CEO Andreas Koeberl.

“The regulated market in Ontario demonstrates immense potential, and we are enthusiastic to be a participant in it and to be part of the excitement of this newly regulated market.”

The company is already authorized by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission, as well as regulatory bodies in South Africa, to provide its offerings.

BetGames is the most recent gaming enterprise to acquire a permit to function in Ontario, joining other firms such as L7 Entertainment, World Series of Poker, Apollo, BetSafe, and Pala.

Commencing on October 31st, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) declared that it would adopt a stricter approach towards unlicensed operators within the province. The AGCO asserted that it would take measures against any organization failing to meet the newly established criteria.
